About AstroMenace

AstroMenace is a 3D space shooting game that combines fast arcade combat with detailed spacecraft progression. Its 15-mission campaign throws you against more than 100 enemy types and over 40 kinds of space objects, including large ships, defensive structures, and other threats filling the battlefield.

Destroying enemies earns money, and that income becomes the backbone of progression. Between missions, you can repair your spacecraft, replace it with another ship, mount different weapons, and improve systems such as its defenses and power setup. There are 22 playable ships and 19 weapons, so your combat setup can change considerably as more equipment becomes affordable.

That makes AstroMenace more than a reflex-heavy shoot-'em-up. Surviving enemy fire matters, but so does spending your money wisely and building a spacecraft capable of handling what the campaign throws at you next.

Key Features of AstroMenace

  • 15-Mission Campaign – Fight through increasingly dangerous space battles and bosses.
  • 22 Spacecraft – Switch between ships with different characteristics.
  • 19 Weapons – Build different weapon loadouts for combat.
  • Ship Upgrades – Improve weapons, defenses, power systems, and repair your craft.
  • Adjustable Difficulty – Change mission difficulty, which also affects combat rewards.

How to Play AstroMenace

AstroMenace splits your attention between two very different jobs: surviving the current firefight and making sure your ship is properly equipped for the next one.

Core Gameplay

Space Combat and Mission Progression

Each mission sends you through a scrolling battlefield filled with enemy ships and incoming fire. You can move in multiple directions to dodge attacks while using separate primary and secondary weapons.

Destroying enemies earns money for repairs and upgrades between missions, creating a clear progression loop: fight → earn → upgrade → continue. You can also replay completed missions to test different ships and weapon setups.

Build and Upgrade Your Spacecraft

Between battles, spend your earnings on new spacecraft, weapons, repairs, and systems such as engines, batteries, and defenses. Weapons can be mounted through the equipment screen, while different ships support different configurations.

Since your shield reaching zero means mission failure, balancing stronger firepower with repairs and defense becomes an important part of progression.

Difficulty and Pilot Profiles

AstroMenace supports up to five pilot profiles, each with its own difficulty setting. You can also adjust difficulty before a mission.

Difficulty affects more than combat challenge: the selected percentage also influences the experience earned from destroying enemies, giving skilled players an incentive to take on tougher missions.

Space Combat and Ship-Building Tips

  • Watch your shield – Don't begin another difficult mission with a badly damaged ship.
  • Use forward/back movement – It gives you another way to dodge missiles instead of only moving sideways.
  • Balance repairs and upgrades – A new weapon isn't automatically the best purchase if your defenses need attention.
  • Match weapons to your ship – Different spacecraft provide different equipment possibilities.
  • Replay missions when useful – Test another spacecraft or weapon setup before moving deeper into the campaign.

Take the fight into space, turn every payout into a stronger spacecraft, and build a loadout capable of surviving all 15 AstroMenace missions.
