About The Narrator Says We're Meant to Be! Game
The Narrator Says We're Meant to Be! is a short romance narrative game with a playful meta twist. Your character is about to go on a big university date with Julian, the campus heartthrob everyone talks about. Everything seems like a classic love story. Then something strange happens. After getting hit on the head by a pebble, you suddenly start hearing the story’s narrator speaking directly to you. He offers advice about what to say, what to do, and how to reach the perfect romantic ending.
How to Play The Narrator Says We're Meant to Be!
Two Romance Routes
The game features two different romance paths, each with multiple endings.
Julian Route
Your first playthrough focuses on Julian. He is the popular “prince” of the university, but he also has awkward and surprisingly sweet moments. Your choices during the dates increase his affection level and lead to different endings.
Completing Julian’s Good Ending unlocks the second route.
Narrator Route
On a new playthrough, you can interact more with the narrator. This opens a hidden route where the narrator becomes a potential love interest. The story explores his feelings and the strange situation of falling for someone who technically isn’t part of the world.
Choices Matter
Like most visual novels, the story changes depending on your decisions.
Two hidden affection values track your progress:
- aff - Julian’s affection
- affnar - Narrator’s affection
The game includes five endings in total:
- Three for Julian
- Two for the Narrator
Because of this system, the game encourages replaying to discover different scenes and outcomes.

Players Discussion
Many players say the Narrator route is the most interesting part of the game. Unlocking it requires completing Julian’s best ending first, which surprises some players during their first run. Another common discussion in the community is meta storytelling. People enjoy how the game turns the narrator into an actual character instead of just a voice guiding the story. It makes the romance feel unusual and funny at the same time.
A Short but Memorable Visual Novel
The Narrator Says We're Meant to Be! is not a long game, but it stands out because of its clever idea. The mix of romance, humor, and fourth-wall jokes creates a story that feels different from typical dating sims.
If you enjoy choice-based romance games or anime-style visual novels, this quirky love story is definitely worth trying.
