Shady Cats Game Introduction

Shady Cats is a 2D platformer arcade game where cute cats race across platforms collecting acorns while escaping their own shadows. Every move leaves a dangerous trail behind, as a dark copy follows your previous movements. Touch that shadow, and your run ends!

The challenge grows as you collect more acorns and navigate between platforms. Honey offers extra rewards but attracts troublesome bees, while fireflies can eliminate a shadow. Play solo or invite up to three friends for a chaotic local multiplayer experience where everyone's movements matter.

How to Survive the Shadow Chase

Your objective is to gather acorns while staying away from the shadows following your path.

Collect Acorns Without Getting Trapped

Run and jump between platforms to reach acorns scattered around the stage. Your shadow follows the route you've already taken, so repeatedly crossing the same area can become dangerous. Keep moving toward open spaces and plan your jumps before changing direction.

Use Power-Ups and Play With Friends

Honey increases your acorn rewards but draws bees into the area. Fireflies offer a useful escape by removing a shadow.

In multiplayer mode, up to four cats share the same stage. Avoid both your own shadow and those belonging to other players while collecting acorns together.

Game Controls

Player 1

• Left / Right Arrows: Move.
• Up Arrow: Jump.

Player 2

• A / Q: Move left.
• D: Move right.
• W / Z: Jump.

Player 3

• J / L: Move left or right.
• I: Jump.

Player 4

• F / H: Move left or right.
• T: Jump.

Tips to Outsmart Your Shadow

• Avoid backtracking: Don't run into the path your shadow is following.
• Plan your jumps: Check your landing area before changing direction.
• Collect fireflies: Remove dangerous shadows when escape routes become limited.
• Be careful with honey: Extra acorns may not be worth the risk of bees.
• Spread out in multiplayer: Give each player enough room to move safely.
