About Catdoku Game

Catdoku is a cat-themed logic puzzle game that turns the familiar grid-solving idea of Sudoku into a placement challenge. You need to find the correct home for each cat. A finished board must contain exactly one cat in every row, column, and colored region, while no two cats can touch even at the corners.

That last restriction is where Catdoku gets especially interesting. One confirmed cat can eliminate several nearby cells at once, creating a chain of deductions across the grid. X marks help you keep track of impossible positions, so careful reasoning is much more useful than trial and error. Early boards give you room to learn how the rules interact, while later puzzles require more attention to overlapping restrictions. Daily challenges add extra replay value for players who enjoy returning to short, deduction-focused brain teasers.

Catdoku Key Features

  • Cat-Based Logic Puzzles: Determine the only valid position for each cat using deduction.
  • Multiple Placement Rules: Every row, column, and colored region must contain exactly one cat.
  • No-Touch Rule: Cats cannot occupy neighboring cells, including diagonally adjacent spaces.
  • Progressive Challenges: Work through increasingly complex grids as you become familiar with the rules.
  • Daily Puzzles: Return to new challenges and put your solving strategy to another test.

How to Play Catdoku

A Catdoku board becomes much easier once you stop looking for where a cat could go and start identifying where it definitely cannot go.

Core Gameplay

Study the rows, columns, and colored regions, then mark impossible cells with an X. Whenever a region is reduced to one valid position, place a cat there. That placement immediately affects the rest of the board: its row and column can contain no other cats, and every surrounding cell becomes unavailable because cats cannot touch.

The best deductions often create a domino effect. One certain placement removes several possibilities, which may leave another row or region with only one choice. Continue narrowing the grid this way until every cat has a legal home. Guessing can cost you a fish, so logical elimination is the safer approach.

Smart Tips to Play Catdoku

  • Target Constrained Regions: Check colored areas with only a few available squares before working on wide-open sections.
  • Mark Around Confirmed Cats: Once a cat is certain, immediately eliminate every neighboring square, including the four diagonals.
  • Cross-Check Three Rules: A cell may look valid within its colored region but still be impossible because of its row or column.
  • Look for Chain Deductions: After placing one cat, rescan the affected row, column, neighboring cells, and regions before moving elsewhere.

Find the one safe spot for every aloof cat and clear the Catdoku grid without relying on guesses.
